Green Chickpeas with Black Garlic and Controne Pepper
This quick and easy recipe makes a great warm salad, or a wonderful side with roasted lamb or halibut. Green chickpeas are available for a few weeks each spring. They’re light, grassy, and more like using fresh peas or edamame. The black garlic gives the salad a caramelized and smoky flavor that is unbeatable. And if you haven’t tried Controne pepper flakes, seek them out: they’re so much more fragrant and fruity than supermarket red chile flakes.
